About This Test

The TOEFL Listening section in the 2026 format consists of 2 modules with 45 total questions and a 40-minute time limit. Module 1 (30 questions) covers Listen and Choose a Response, short campus conversations, public announcements, and an academic talk. Module 2 (15 questions) covers more Choose a Response items, conversations, and announcements. Audio uses natural neural voices and questions test main ideas, details, inference, and speaker purpose. Scores range from 1 to 6 on the new 2026 scale.
